Support Teacher Well-Being
One Resource at a Time

Last spring, our partners at Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and the Collaborative for Social, Emotional, and Academic Learning (CASEL) surveyed over 5,000 educators across the United States. They found that even at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers, school leaders, and out-of-school time instructors reported feeling anxious, fearful, worried, overwhelmed, and sad more than any other emotions (Brackett, et. al, 2020).

Honor Your Emotions, Celebrate Your Progress

Whatever you are feeling, we want to help you manage your emotions and develop healthy, supportive relationships with colleagues, students, and families in your learning community. Inspire Teaching & Learning has curated professional learning resources in a user-friendly, action-driven resource list and reflection guide that can help you honor your emotions and take steps toward fostering emotional, social, and professional development. Download the Educator SEL Reflection Guide to get started.

Reference the fillable reflection guide to identify, access, and reflect on actionable teaching strategies and self-care available at no cost in the Online Learning Portal. Take all the curated 30- or 60-minute modules or complete individual modules that seem most beneficial for you. Each recommendation is paired with one of two reflection questions that make it easy to implement what you learn and record your progress.

Ask for Support When You Need It

Thank you for taking this time to practice SEL in your life. We cannot always change the circumstances that influence our emotions, but we can learn to regulate and manage our feelings with the appropriate support or resources. Please don’t hesitate to seek support from a licensed mental health practitioner as part of your journey toward well-being. Together, we look to the future with hope and healing.
